Bavarian Environmental Agency (LfU)

The LfU works on the identification, the detection and the risk analysis of aquatic anthropogenic trace contaminants. One aim is the generation of a publicly available database („STOFF-IDENT“) for the identification of previously unknown trace contaminants. Parallel the selected trace contaminants are investigated and assessed regarding their persistence, mobility, and ecotoxicological effects. All results are edited target-group-specifically and provided as a base for risk management.

University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf (HSWT)

The HSWT creates, conceives and programmes a database for potential aquatic relevant contaminants (“STOFF-IDENT”). This will be linked during implementation with other substances related databases and their functionalitie.

Technical University Munich (TUM)

Within a non-target-screening the TUM compares so far not relatable signals in LC-MS/MS with the database “STOFF-IDENT” and identifies contaminants with a complimentary LCxLC-ToF-MS system. The “molecular fingerprint” obtained is rehashed with statistic methods e.g.  principle components analysis or cluster analysis.

Administration union of the regional water supply (LW)

LW supports the creation of the database "STOFF-IDENT" through non-target-analytic by use of liquid chromatography and high resolution mass spectrometry. This contributes to the identification of trace contaminants and their transformation products in different water samples.

CONDIAS

CONDIAS proves a practical orientated process for an efficient, but simultaneously energy-saving elimination technique for trace contaminants during wastewater treatment. Besides the determination of efficiency, also the investigations of potential ecotoxicological risks are recorded. The process should be developed up to market standards and offered on a commercial basis.
