WP 4 Ecotoxicology

The in WP3 used sartans have been tested in WP4 for their ecotoxicological effects on fish, microcrustacea and algae; furthermore their genotoxic potential was determined. Additionally the combined toxicity of candesartan, eprosartan, irbesartan, olmesartan, valsartan, and their transformation products in the effluent from the laboratory wastewater treatment plant have been tested. It could be shown that in environmental relevant concentrations no environmental risk has to be expected for the tested sartans and their transformation products.
